Club Competition
The Sprite Car Club of Australia (Inc) has been affiliated with Motorsport Australia (previously known as CAMS), the governing body of Motorsport for over 60 years. We are also a member of the Combined Sports Cars Association, CSCA, in NSW.
The CSCA comprises SCCA, MG Car Club, MG Car Club Newcastle, Morgan Owners Club Australia, Austin Healey Owners Club, Jaguar Drivers Club Australia and the Triumph Sports Owners’ Australia. Once a year each club runs a “Supersprint” where cars are timed for 5 or 6 laps of a motor racing circuit.
The Club runs a number of friendly competitions each year based on attendance at runs and events, as well as a more motorsport focused competition.

Any car is acceptable for one of these events provided it is presented to scrutineering in a safe condition in line with the rules. Generally speaking if you have a roadworthy car it will be acceptable for Supersprinting with the addition of a fire extinguisher and some warning decals. The minimum license requirement to take part in a Supersprint is a Motorsport Australia Speed License. Drivers must wear non flammable neck to toe clothing, closed in shoes and a helmet.
The CSCA Clubs compete against each other for an end of year club championship; there are also trophies for the Champion Driver and various classes at each individual event.
Members also race in Historic Sports and Racing Car Association (HSRCA) events as well as those organised by Motor Racing Australia (MRA). These events require a higher level of CAMS license, a Competion Circuit license and the car will need to have a CAMS log book.
SCCA members also compete in Motorkhanas, Rallies and Hillclimbs, where Sprites and Midgets perform well due to their excellent handling.
